Digipak Analysis Eminem

The most striking element of this album front cover is that Eminem himself doesn't feature, just the bottom half of his body. we could assume that this is due to the fact he is such an iconic artist within the industry his image isn't actually required. As the audience would instantly recognise who he is from the bold title, the font used is consistent throughout his albums, it serves as a signature that makes it instantly recognisable and to associate it with his brand.
The overall image portrayed in the album cover is of a man on a stage ready to take a bow surrounded by stems of roses. This image is metophorical of Eminem's career as this is his compilation album of his greatest hits before he retired from the industry and him saying goodbye to his fans.
Stereotypically the convention of the back of a music album features the track list included, its also essential in terms of the selling process as it usually includes a barcode and all the institutional information such as the logo of Eminem's own record label Shady Records. The back image reflects a continuity to the front, the fact that their isn't a over the top or outlandish image of him personally further proves his status that he is a respected character within the industry cemented by his formal attire. The titles of his songs included in the album take the majority of the focus as they hold the most importance they are written in his signature font further implementing his brand.
The image adjacent to this text shows the digipak in its open format where the disc is placed. The first image is extremely telling in giving Eminem's fans an insight into his life which showing someone who appears off a higher status giving him orders, whilst creating sympathy it also adds a personal touch to make them feel closer to him. The next picture (where the disc is placed) is simple, its the initial of his name and the album title which holds a necessity in creating a recognisable and notable brand.
